I'm currently running OSX 10.9.5 on a mid-2013 MacBook Air and have hooked it up to a Canon Pixma MP230 3-in-1 printer. This printer has a built-in manual two-sided printing function, where the user flips the pages for the printer to print on both sides. This feature was working great right about until a few months ago, and suddenly the option is no longer showing up when I attempt to print out of Google Chrome, nor is it available when I try to print using the personalised printer dialog.

Printing works great, and scanning from the desktop 'Canon MP Navigator EX - MG 5200 series' V 4.0.3 application works like a dream. I have just connected my Canon Pixma MG5270 to my iMac running OSX 10.7.3 via WiFi.

If I do that, then will gimp-print still give me full control over the printer (i.e. It's a pretty stupid system cause it doesn't even tell me that's why it won't print. I've figured out through experience in the past that this is always solved by replacing a low ink cartridge. The Printer Setup Utility simply stops all print jobs for that printer without any explanation. but I don't, and their support hasn't been very helpful. My printer, however, doesn't let me print now that it thinks my refilled cartridge is low.Īccording to canon's website, i'm SUPPOSED to get an error message on my screen asking if I want to continue printing anyway. and will still think it's low if you refill the cartridge.
